Ingredients

  • 125 g glutinous rice 3/4 c + 2 tbsp
  • 100 g rice flour 1/2 c + 2 tbsp
  • 150 g sugar 3/4 c
  • 1 tsp pandan paste
  • 1 can coconut milk 400 ml
  • 250 ml water
  • A pinch of salt

2nd Layer

  • 125 g glutinous rice
  • 100 g rice
  • 150 g brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 250 ml water
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Mix everything, then pour into a square pan that’s been lined with banana leaf. Steam for 10-15 minutes
  • Prepare the next layer. Mix everything until combined, then pour half of it onto the pandan layer on the pan. Steam for 10-15 minutes, then pour the rest of the batter. This time, steam for 15-20 minutes
  • Cool cake completely before slicing. I flipped the cake, so bottom layer to top, and vice versa
