Vegan Chili Dog

Ingredients

  • 1 medium size purple onion sliced
  • 3 portobello mushrooms sliced
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic crushed
  • 1 block firm Tofu crumbled finely
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 3 tbsp pizza sauce or tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • Vegeta powder to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 1/2 tsp paprika powder smoked is best
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  • Heat oil saute onion garlic and mushrooms til soften then process into paste
  • In a bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients
  • Preheat oven to 390 F
  • Mix in mushroom paste into the bowl
  • Stir in 150 g breadcrumbs and 110 g chickpea flour (add more breadcrumbs and flour if mixture is too moist)
  • Shape into sausage but not too fat/thick
  • Bake for 20 mins
  • Serve in hotdog buns with roasted pumpkin chili (recipes a couple posts down) and your fav. Sauce
