Pretzel Knots

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c water
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 3 c strong baker’s flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 4 tbsp BSoda
  • 3 c hot boiling water

Instructions

  • Grease cookie sheet/pan, set aside
  • Mix water, yeast, and sugar, let stand for 10 mins until bubbly
  • Mix flour, salt and sugar in a bowl, pour in yeast mixture and oil, mix and knead to form a dough
  • Let rest, covered, for 1 H.
  • Divide dough into portions, roll into ropes and shape into pretzels knots
  • In a bowl, mix soda and hot water
  • Dip pretzel knots into baking soda solution
  • Place on cookie sheet and sprinkle with coarse salt
  • Bake on preheated 450 F, for 10-12 mins
