Pizza Donuts

Ingredients

  • 150 ml lukewarm nut milk
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 250 g AP flour
  • a pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp vegan margarine
  • vegetable oil as needed

Instructions

  • Mix sugar and yeast into lukewarm milk, let it stand for 5 mins to bloom
  • Mix flour and salt in a bowl
  • Pour in yeast into dry ingredients, knead
  • Knead in margarine until dough no longer wet
  • Let dough rest for 30-40 mins, covered
  • Punch down dough to let air out, roll flat into a round dough
  • Slice into pizza slices, cover and let rise again for 20 mins
  • Heat oil, medium temperature, fry donut for 5 mins on one side, turn over and fry for another 2-3 mins
  • Cool donuts before glazing

Notes

- Coconut-Matcha => I grind desiccated coconut along with matcha leaf and icing sugar. For the green glaze was just icing sugar with a little nut milk and green food coloring.
- Double Chocolate => DF chocolate sprinkles made of cocoa butter, with DF chocolate spread.
- Vanilla Chocolate => The pink glaze was icing sugar, nut milk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring. The drizzle was melted DF chocolate chips
- Kahlua => The glaze was icing sugar with Kahlua, and the chocolate was melted DF choc chips that I just swirled a little, with skewer
- Cereal => Melted DF chocolate chip sprinkled with crushed yellow cereal
- Chocolate Almond ==> DF chocolate spread with toasted slivered almond (1 minute on microwave, so lazy toasting them properly 😛)
- Chocolate Sprinkles => DF chocolate spread with vegan-friendly sugar sprinkle
