Langos

Sour Cream and Cheese Topped Fried Bread

Ingredients

  • 180 ml lukewarm water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of sugar
  • 26 g unsalted butter
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Garlic oil for brushing
  • Salt for sprinkling
  • Sour cream for brushing
  • Grated cheese for sprinkling

Instructions

  • In a bowl, stir sugar into lukewarm water, then stir in yeast, let stand 5-10 mins
  • In a larger bowl, mix flour, sugar and salt, then pour in yeast, knead
  • Knead in butter then let rest covered for 20-30 mins
  • Preheat oil to fry
  • Divide dough into 2 large langos or 4-6 smaller size langos
  • Fry til browning, flipping once.
  • Brush langos with garlic oil, sprinkle with salt, serve. You can also brush with garlic oil, spread sour cream, and top with grated cheese, and serve
