Creamed Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg cabbage chopped, divide into four portions
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 1 huge purple onion chopped, divide into four portions
  • 1/3 c water
  • 1/3 c * 4 almond milk
  • Salt and pepper
  • Hungarian Vegeta

Instructions

  • Wash and drain chopped cabbage
  • Into 5 quart Crock-Pot, sprinkle the first portion of chopped onion
  • Top with one portion of chopped cabbage
  • Sprinkle with Vegeta then flour
  • Wet with 1/3 c milk
  • Sprinkle the second onion, then cabbage, Vegeta, freshly cracked black pepper, milk
  • Then repeat steps but without pepper
  • On last (fourth portion of everything), with pepper plus salt and water
  • Cook on high for 3 H at least
  • Stir before serving

Notes

To serve, sprinkle cabbage with browned breadcrumbs
1 tbsp vegan butter or margarine, melted on stove
Fry 1/4-1/2 c breadcrumbs
