Bubur Mutiara Nangka

sago pearls and jackfruit

Ingredients

  • 1 c Sago pearls
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 4-5 c water in total
  • 1 can Jackfruit in syrup
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 1/2 – 1 c water
  • 1 pandan leaf knotted
  • A generous pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Into a pot, pour 2 c water and bring to boil, then pour in Sago pearls, cook fully boil for 5 minutes.
  • Take off from heat, cover with lid, let stand for 7 minutes.
  • Put the pot back onto stove, uncovered, boil again for 10-15 minutes, adding in sugar and more water, 1 c at a time or as needed, until most pearls translucent.
  • In a clean pot, bring coconut milk, water, pandan leaf and a pinch of salt to boil, set aside
  • Slice Jackfruit into bitesize
  • Into serving cups, spoon some Sago pearls, pour a ladle of coconut milk, and top with sliced jackfruit.
  • Your dessert porridge is ready
