Bakpao

raspberry filled steamed buns

Ingredients

  • 1.5 c lukewarm water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp fresh yeast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 1/3 c flour
  • 1/3 c oatmeal
  • 2 tbsp PB2 powder
  • A generous pinch of salt optional
  • Raspberry jam

Instructions

  • Soften yeast in sugary lukewarm water, then pour mixture into breadmaker machine pot, followed with oil, flour, oatmeal, PB2 powder, and salt, if using
  • Chose cycle number 9, for dough, and it will take about 1.5 H until it’s ready, on my breadmaker.
  • Take out bloomed dough from the breadmaker, dump it on a clean surface, and divide into 60-90 grams portions.
  • Flatten each portion and spoon a tbsp raspberry jam on each, shape into rounds. Cover buns with clean towel, and let them rise again, for at least 20 minutes.
  • Preheat steamer, steam buns for 10 minutes. Take off steamer from heat, let stand for 10 minutes, then take out the buns.
