Hungarian beans and wiener soup

Ingredients

  • 1 c red kidney beans
  • 1/2 c great northern white beans
  • 1/2 red chili beans
  • 1 med onion slice or cube
  • 6 garlic thinly slice
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp black peppercorns
  • Carrots I love using rainbow colors carrots – you can use as many carrots as you like, slice no need too thinly. Mine is about 1 small bowl.
  • 1 tsp crushed parsley
  • 3 beef cubes
  • 1 bag of beef hot dogs slice

Thickener

  • 1/2 tbsp sweet paprika powder
  • 2 tbsp strong baker’s flour
  • Enough water

Instructions

  • Soak beans 30 mins, rinse and place into Instant Pot
  • Pour enough water
  • Drop in everything, like onion, garlic, bay leaves and peppercorns
  • Put on the pot lid
  • Click Soup option, and set timer on the IP for 1 h 30 mins
  • Turn off IP, release steam, take off lid
  • Add in carrots, parsley and beef bouillon cubes, continue cooking soup 15 mins (put on lid, choose soup)
  • Turn off IP. Release steam, take off lid, stir in sliced beef hotdogs and pour in paprika solution, stir, turn on soup option again, but no need to put on the lid. Continue cooking for 5 mins.
  • Adjust flavor, bring back to boil and soup is ready.
