Earlier we had barbecued seitan also known as vegan ribs, and I thought, hey, I haven’t shared the recipe on Steemit, yet. So here I am, just a quick post, as I think NyQuil will knock me out soon ?
The texture of these BBQd Seitan is more to Crock-Pot beef ribs, where the meat just pulls away from bones, tender, just in case you are wondering.
Ingredients
- 1 c vital wheat gluten flour
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tbsp paprika powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- A pinch of freshly cracked black pepper
- 3/4 c veggie broth
- 2 tbsp peanut butter, creamy
- 1 tsp liquid smoke
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 c BBQ sauce
Method
- Mix dry ingredients in a bowl
Blender wet ingredients til combined (you can use mixer or wire balloon whisk)
Mix in dry ingredients and knead
Pat into square and slice with knife as shown on picture
- Bake for 25 mins on preheated 350 F
- Brush with extra BBQ sauce and grill for 5 mins on each side
Enjoy your vegan ribs with anything you lie, such as what I have on the plate. It is good to be devoured as is as well by the way 😀

Aku mau berbagi resep cara buat “iga” panggang ala vegan/vegetarian. Aku sih lebih senang menyebutnya Seitan panggang ketimbang “iga” panggang.
Nih resepnya kalau ada vegan/vegetarian Indonesia di Steemit yang mungkin tertarik mau coba
Bahan-Bahan
- 1 gelas tepung gluten (beli online)
- 2 sdm ragi nutrisi (beli online)
- 1 sdm paprika bubuk (bukan cabai bubuk yah)
- 2 sdt bubuk bawang
- 1 sdt bubuk bawang putih
- sejumput merica hitam bubuk
- 3/4 gelas kaldu sayuran
- 2 sdm selai kacang yang halus
- 1 sdt liquid smoke (ini yang bikin enak, seolah2 dipanggang di bara api ketimbang di oven ?)
- 1 sdm kecap asin
- 1 gelas saus barbekyu
Cara Membuat
- Campurkan bahan kering
- Di mangkuk terpisah, kocok bahan basah hingga rata
- Tuang bahan basah ke bahan kering, uleni
- Tuang adonan ke loyang dan tekan2 menjadi bentuk persegi. Beri irisan seperti difoto atas.
- Panggang pada oven yang sudah dipanaskan terlebih dahulu, 350 F, selama 20 menit
- Keluarkan dan sapu permukaan dengan saus barbekyu tambahan dan panggang dengan api atas 5 menit, balik Seitan, panggang lagi 5 menit
