These steamed buns are beef filled 🙂 I love making them for my husband. He can pack them for work and just pop them for 50 seconds in the microwave and he would get warm lunch/dinner at work 😀 Easy peasy 😀
Skin
400 g flour
1 tbsp active dry yeast
2 tbsp sugar
salt to taste
1 cup lukewarm water + a little more (less than 1/4 c)
2 tbsp oil
Mix dry ingredients, make a well in the center, pour in water+oil, knead well (3-5 minutes).
Cover with damp towel let stand for at least 30 minutes or doubled in size.
Punch down dough, make a log, then slice into 8-11 portions.
Filling
200-300 grams ground beef
Hungarian Vegeta seasoning (or any other seasoning such as Royco powder)
1 envelope taco seasoning
Prepare taco beef as instructed on the envelope of taco seasoning, set aside to cool
Buns
Green onion slices
Flat each portion either using your hand or rolling pin, place 1 heaping tbsp of taco beef, 1 tsp sliced green onion, pinch seam to seal.
To make bunny buns, make two incision on the top, creating a V shape, while for the hedgehog, basically you just kinda make a cut here and there without cutting through the buns 🙂
Steam filled buns for 15 minutes at least or until well cooked.
Serve with your favorite sauce!
