2 weeks ago, it was Winter still. Today, bloody hot, hot, hot ???? So nice outside, so I prepared cold dessert for today, woo-hoo ????
Using my fermented glutinous rice (tapai ketan) which recipe and the cooking vlog I shared yesterday, and green worms!!!!
Yep. That is how my 6 yo son called it ?
Here is Es Campur (literally translated to mix ice).
The green worms are actually what the Indonesians call as CENDOL or dawet.
They are made of rice flour and they are used in so many desserts, porridges, cold desserts, icy drinks, and puddings throughout South East Asia (with different name of course).
I have shared a traditional way on how to make cendol before, but today, I used cheater way. Instant powder and microwave ?
1 envelope cendol instant powder
(Prepare as package OR watch the video on how I prepared it, with useful info)
1 can coconut milk
A pinch of salt
1 pandan, knotted
Quicky brown sugar syrup:
1 c brown sugar
Water as needed
