Wonton soup is like a staple menu of Chinese restaurants and I have to say those small bowls where they are served are just too small for me haha I’m a pig. But the soup is definitely perfect to be served in small bowls, so for picture, I also served my homemade wonton soup in a small bowl 🙂
I filled the wonton with chicken but you can fill them with whatever you like, veggies, meat, or a mix.
Ingredients
- 1/2 package of wonton wrappers
- Shredded cooked seasoned chicken, you can even use leftover rotisserie chicken from Walmart ;-D
- 1/2-3/4 c frozen peas, thawed
- Piquancy/cayenne powder, garlic powder, salt, Vegeta powder, ground white pepper, to taste
Broth
- 1-2 beef or chicken bouillon cubes, Vegeta powder, ground white pepper, garlic powder
- Enough water
- 1 stalk spring onions, thinly sliced
Method
- Mix everything and adjust the taste to your liking
- Spoon a heaping teaspoon of filling on the center of wonton wrapper, and bring each ends together
- Add enough water into a pot, add seasonings, bring to boil
- Drop and cook wonton for 7 minutes, max!
Serve immediately or while it’s still warm
Note: I did not cook the whole prepared filled wonton on the picture, just enough to serve and keep the rest in the fridge until ready to use again. This way your wonton wont be soggy in the broth. So just cook/boil when you are ready to eat!
