Raise your hand if you like Game of Thrones 🙂
I am having a Jon Snow withdrawal. Waiting is a biatch. I cannot wait for GoT to return to TV already! April can’t come soon enough, but lucky Winter will still be here lol A girl has to wait to finish her kill list. Dammitt!
So, to kill this annoying waiting period, I made myself busy, producing my own dragons eggs –grins–
But yeah, it’s been some days now, nothing is hatching still. I am beginning to think that I need a torch or even a leftover birthday candle, or just start frying them eggs for breakfast or something hahahahaOff to Dollarstore I went and grabbed stuffs and boom. I think I just made Easter eggs instead dragon eggs :PThey are super simple to make. You can be as creative as you’d like to in decorating, adding wings, feathers, or twigs and whatnot.
Materials
- Styrofoam eggs (a pack of 6 is only $1.50)
- tacky push pin (1 egg needs 1 box = 200 pins. You can get the regular silver ones or colored ones, as you wish)
- nail colors of your choice (I used 3 different brands, China-made, USA-made, and one am not sure where from)
- foam board or even cardboard (should you decided to color your pins)
Method
- Should you get the colored pins, your job is a lot easier, you just have to push them pins into the Styrofoam egg, but if you would like to created your own color, using the nail polish, push them pins on a cardboard of foam board, then start coloring them with the nail polish
- Wait for 20 mins at least to dry, then start pushing the pins onto the egg.
- You can start from either end of the egg by the way. The different result doesn’t matter much in my opinion. The skin would be going up, or going down. Not that anyone really know what a real dragon egg would look like anyways 😛
I do have to let you know, those cheap nail polish (from Dollarstore) could really burn the foam board. That was crazy to see. While the expensive branded one from a make-up store did not really have that effect on the board.
My youngest requested his to be glittered only, not colored, and he really does call his dragon to be (haha) as –Glitter– aaaannnddd, of course not, he does not watch GoT, what do you think I am, a Cersei? lol
So that’s it for the tutorial. Super easy, super simple, but so many possibilities you could end up with, as long as you use your fantasy 😀 Maybe make it, Disney-themed? 😀
Thanks for looking and now am off trying to figure out how to Dracarys the hell out of my dragon eggs!
