Good morning, guys!
3 more days til surgery. Got my surgery band yesterday. Do you know your blood type, btw? In Canada, to know your blood type, you have to pay for yourself. When you give birth to a baby, they don’t check the baby’s blood type. I was always informed that it’s because if there was something happening, say accident, hospital gives universal blood (instead patient’s blood type). I never questioned it for so many years, as I know my blood type. In Indonesia, when a baby is born, blood type is checked and recorded on the birth certificate. When I had my 1st, here in Canada, that’s when I learned Canada has different system. What about in your country? Newborns aren’t checked for
Anyways. Why I asked, is because yesterday I had my last blood check before surgery. I asked the nurse why and what the 4 long vials filled my blood were for. They said, it’s to find out my blood type and whatnot. I told them, oh, we could have saved all those as I know mine lol Then I asked (again) why in Canada people don’t find out their blood type and whatnot. My kids were born in 2 differ provinces of Canada and neither provinces checked for newborns blood type. The nurses yesterday also wondered, as well said they find it odd that Canada doesn’t do it, and they explained what I already heard many years ago, about having to pay ourselves to find the type, and that if needed, if someone ends up at hospital, they are given universal type, etc.
Oh my, long opening for a simple jelly dessert 🤣
1 pouch of agar agar powder, 7 g
5 tbsp sugar
300 ml orange juice with pulp
600 ml water
2 drops orange oil from Lorann
Bring everything to a full boil for 1 minute, while stirring to combine until sugar and powder diluted nicely
Rinse a mold with cold water, quickly, then pour hot boiling mixture into the mold
Let cool to room temperature before chilling
It’s extra nice served chilled, however even without a fridge, jelly will firm up at room temperature after sometime, so no worries 👍👍👍👍
Slice and enjoy, it’s so refreshing, esp for summer days and more so for those in liquid diet before a surgery 😉
