Good Morning Guys!
We are looking for another 34C day here. Hot, hot, hot. Yesterday when the boys and I went to a nearby playground, there were no clouds at all even at 10 AM. Sun was burning the skin much. Tomorrow supposedly gonna rain though, boo-hoo. Seems like whenever weekends coming, rains. So can’t really work much on the garden 😅
We have flattened the hill in the backyard last week, yet we haven’t had the chance to move and replant the berries and whatnot. I was so hoping for this coming weekend, but weather prediction says it’s gonna rain. Hopefully just a short rain for my house, but rain like crazy (no lightning though!) on wildfires areas. Here is crossing fingers 😊🤞😊🤞
For today’s recipe, I have what Indonesian would refer it as Semur. We can use chicken or beef slices for this dish, but today I use ground beef 😊
600 g ground beef
1 small onion
4 garlic
1 carrots
8 baby potatoes
1 boiled corn con, peel the kernel
1/2 c water or as needed
1/8 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp sweet paprika powder
1/4 tsp white pepper powder
Sweet soy sauce to taste (Indonesian brand ABC is the best, while Dutch brand is lighter or more runnier, and less sweet)
Chicken bouillon powder to taste
1 small box grape tomatoes
Slice or chop roughly onion and garlic, set aside
Cube baby potatoes and slice carrots, rinse, set to side
Brown beef then stir in garlic and onion, cook til softened. Add in corn, carrots, and potatoes, pour a little water.
Season and continue cooking until veggies tender, then stir in tomatoes.
Serve with warm rice!
