Hello Friends!
Cloudy morning we are having here. Guess heatwave finally moving on. Last day of Summer Camp for my youngest and there will be Pie Day at the local museum later on, just as the time I will be picking him up. Imma treat him (and my oldest too) to the pies fundraiser 😍
But for now, let me share you a recipe first 😊
It is Indonesian dish, soup to be exact. I wanted just to show how to make the meatballs but ended up showing the complete soup as well 😁
Here is a recipe for Bakso, Indonesian Meatballs Soup.

1/2 c tapioca starch
1/2 c ice cubes
1 tbsp chicken bouillon powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp ground white pepper
1/4 tsp MSG (if using)
2 tbsp fried onion
1 tbsp fried garlic
1 tsp BP
1/2 tbsp sesame oil
For boiling meatballs:
2.5 quart water
1 tbsp chicken bouillon powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp ground white pepper
A generous pinch fried onion
A generous pinch fried garlic
2 drops Sesame oil
A pinch of chives
For boiling beef feet:
3.5 quart water
3 beef feet
Broth:
3 quart water
Boiled beef feet
4 large garlic
1 small onion
1/4 c water
1 tbsp chives
1 tbsp fried garlic
1 tbsp friend onion
Chicken bouillon powder to taste
A generous pinch of round white pepper
To serve:
Rice vermicelli (softened in hot boiling water for 3-5 mins)
Sweet soy sauce
Sriracha sauce
Lemon juice
Crackers
Fried onion
Wowzer lotsa ingredients 😁 But the same ingredients just use over and over again 😁 It’s worth it, I promise you 😁
In a pot, simmer water, seasoned with all ingredients for boiling meatballs, turn off stove.
In a food processor, add everything for meatballs in and turn into paste. Squeeze paste between thumb and point finger, scoop with a spoon and drop into the pot. Repeat step until all paste turned into balls.
Bring to boil and cook for 15-20 mins. With slotted spoon, take out meatballs into a container.
In a clean pot, boil beef feet for 5 mins, take out with slotted spoon. Drain water, rinse pot, and fill up with clean water (3 quart)
Add in back the feet, season with all that are listed for broth. Boil for 15 mins.
To serve, place vermicelli in a bowl, top with meatballs, pour hot boiling broth, sprinkle with fried onion. Season with sweet soy sauce, Sriracha, and lemon juice, if you like.
Enjoy 😊
