This dish isn’t really Indonesian. I used a spice called candlenut (kemiri), and it is can only be found in Indonesia, so what do you think? Do I say this is Indonesian food then hahaha I don’t think I can. We don’t have scallion powder nor celery salt in Indonesia, I don’t think 😀
1.5 kg beef (with or without bones), slice
8 candlenuts
2 tsps coriander
1/4 of 1 large size onion
1 tsp scallion powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp celery salt
2 tbsps olive oil
12 tbsps water
3 whole anise star
In food processor, mix all spices into a very smooth paste. For easier method, add in olive oil while processing.
Mix paste with water and some more olive oil. Rub all over the beef slices.
Bake beef uncover at 400 F for 20-25 minutes long or until well done
