Happy Monday!
Summer Camp week commenced for my youngest earlier. Packed him his favorite snacks and whatnot, plus clothing too, dropped him off to the place and now am relaxing for a bit to share you another recipe 😉
Today’s recipe is still in Tomato Paste Series. Mostly will be baking instead dishes tho, and for today’s baking, it is Nutella Cross Buns. Just like the previous 2 recipes using tomato paste, you won’t taste it! The paste is more for color and it also gives softness to the buns/breads 😊
3/4 c almond milk
1/4 c sugar
1 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
3.5 c flour
A pinch of salt
1/4 c sunflower oil
1/2 c tomato paste
1 egg white
Nutella
1 yolk
2 tbsp water
1/3 c flour
Yolk mixture 1 tbsp + enough water
In a bowl, mix milk and sugar, heat in micro for 40 secs, stir to combine, then stir in yeast. Let stand until bubbly.
In another bowl, mix flour and salt. Add in oil, paste, yeast mixture and egg white. Knead.
Cover with cling wrap for an H
Divide dough @100 each, flatten, and spoon Nutella in center. Seam to seal.
In a bowl, mix yolk and water, then brush it on buns.
Preheat oven to 375 F
In a bowl, mix flour, yolk mixture leftover (1 tbsp) and enough water, to make a paste. Spoon mixture into ziplock and snip the corner. Pipe mixture as cross, onto buns
Bake buns for 20-22 mins
Enjoy 😍
