Hi Friends 🙂 Here is for Ramadan Day 6!
I did not have time to share this following cake yesterday as I was also late in uploading my latest Dtube. Ah well.This cake is called Dadar Gulung (or sometime Ketayap), and is filled with sweetened grated coconut. It’s my oldest’s son’s favorite Indonesian cake :)It is similar to Hungarian palacsinta too by the way 🙂
I do have to mention, this is a veganized version. Normally we would use egg for dadar gulung 🙂
Filling
- 1 bag of unsweetened desiccated coconut
- 3/4 c brown sugar
- a generous pinch of salt
- 1 screwpine leaf
- 1 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 2 tbsp water
- 150 ml water
- In a nonstick pan, mix everything until water evaporated
- Set aside to cool
Skin
- 1 3/4 c + 1/3 c flour
- 1 can coconut milk (400 ml)
- 200 ml water
- a generous pinch of salt
- 1 tsp pandan paste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Mix everything in a bowl until no lumps
- Brush non stick pan with a little vegetable oil, make thin crepes, cook on both sides
Grab one crepe, place 1-2 tbsp filling, roll as you would spring roll
Ready to serve 🙂

Ingredients

Aku kemarin bikin dadar gulung, kesukaan si sulung 😀

- 1 daun pandan
- sejumput garam
- 1 sdm maizena, larutkan dalam 2 sdm air
- 150 ml air
- Masak hingga air kesat, sisihkan
Kulit
- 300 g terigu
- 400 ml santan
- 200 ml air
- sejumput garam
- 1 sdt pasta pandan
- 2 sdm minyak goreng
- Campurkan semua bahan, aduk dan jangan sampai bergerindil
- Sapu wajan anti lengket dengan sedikit minyak goreng, dadar tipis agak kering di kedua sisi, hingga adonan habis
- Ambil satu kulit, beri isi, gulung, jadi deh 😀
- Sajikan 😀
