Another day, another -35 C here. I warmed the car twice and still it wasn’t enough to clear ice in the window, darn it. Good thing it’s not windy, so no windchill like on the weekend, it was up to -40 C freezing cold 🥶🥶🥶🥶
Lights flickering for days tho due to the coldness. So it’s been fun, going to disco minus the loud music 😁
Today’s recipe share is a soft sweet buns recipe 😍

200 ml milk
50 g sugar
20-22 g fresh yeast
350 g strong baker’s flour
60 g unsalted butter
1 tsp peanut oil
2 yolks
A pinch of salt
1 1/2 – 1 3/4 c unsweetened Applesauce
1 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 c raisins
1-2 tbsp cornstarch
2-3 tbsp milk
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp strong baker’s flour
1 yolk + 1 tbsp milk
In a pot, mix sugar and milk, heat to lukewarm, then soften the fresh yeast in it
Melt butter in microwave, stir in peanut oil
Beat the yolks, set aside
Pour yeast mixture into breadmaker pot, top with flour, then pour in melted butter, sprinkle salt
Add in beaten yolks, then click dough cycle
Meanwhile, pour applesauce into a pot, mix in butter, cinnamon powder, and raisins, bring to boil
Dilute cornstarch in milk, then pour mixture into pot, stir quickly, take off from heat
Stir in sugar and flour, let stand to cool to room temperature
Once dough is ready, roll flat and slice into triangles
Take a triangle, place a spoon of filling, roll, place onto baking pan. Repeat steps until all triangles done, cover with clean towel, let rest for 20 mins
Preheat oven to 350 F
Brush buns with yolk and milk mixture, bake for 25 mins

Soft Pillowy Apple Raisin Buns
