My mother in law is in the country, since beginning of October til March 2025, and that means, we’ve been having Hungarian foods now and then 🙂
Much like older Hungarians every where, she cooks without measurement So for today’s recipe, it’s a little of this, and a little of that 😛
5 eggs, separate yolk and white
100 g sugar (more if you like sweeter)
1 pouch of vanilla sugar
1-2 tsp BP
240 g, more or less
Apples as needed
Skin apple and slice thinly. Lay sliced apples on parchment lined baking pan
Mix flour, vanilla sugar and BP in a bowl
Beat yolk with sugar until pale, then stir in dry ingredients until completely combined
Whip egg white until stiff, then fold into yolk mixture
Pour mixture on sliced apples
Bake on preheated 350 F for 30 minutes or until knife comes out clean
