Good Morning!
Hope this finds you well, friends 😊 I am typing while enjoying the train horn. I don’t live too too near the track but we can hear the train horn from our house. It’s quite enjoyable, although perhaps not so much for those who live closer to the track.
I harvested my plums yesterday. They are smaller than store bought, however they are amazingly sweet. I was so happy. My husband went to check the garden center, but no plum trees left. I wanted to get one more of there were any. I guess I have to wait for next year 😁
How’s your weekend so far? I’m gonna have to go to find school supplies for the boys. August already. School will start again soon. Gotta get supplies before things are gone 😅 So yep. Once am done sharing this following recipe, toodleloo. Gone shopping I will be 😁
Another recipe from Indonesia today. Potato patties or potato nuggets. We call them as Perkedel Kentang. Sometimes we make them with potatoes only, sometimes with beef. Today am sharing you the one with beef.
500 g ground beef
Chicken bouillon powder, to taste
Ground coriander, a generous pinch
Cumin powder, a generous pinch
3-4 large potatoes @265-270 g each
1/2 small onion
4-5 garlic
2 tbsp water
2 tsp chicken bouillon powder
A generous pinch of white pepper powder
2 yolks
Freshly grated nutmeg (1/2-1 nutmeg)
2 beaten egg whites
Oil for frying
Brown beef, season, set aside, covered.
In a food processor, mix onion, garlic and water into a fine paste, pour mixture into a large bowl, set aside.
Cube peeled potatoes, fry til golden brown.
Add in fried potatoes into the large bowl, mash.
Add in cooked beef, mix well.
Shape into patties/nuggets/ovals/rounds, dip into egg whites, and fry on medium-high heat for 5-8 mins.
