Happy Friday ๐
My husband and I took the boys to the cinema last night, to watch Despicable Me 4. Have you seen it? I was expecting more to be honest. It was not as good as the previous ones IMO. At least the boys enjoyed it, though. We actually got the wrong ticket ๐ I didn’t see there was 3D option eventhough my youngest already said that he wanted the 3D one, and I chose the regular one. 4 eyes and still blind ๐ I am glad my youngest is a forgiving child.๐
I absolutely believe, whenever the boys suggest us to go to the cinema for new movies, it is more to popcorn party actually. There’s just something different with cinemas popcorn. Even though we can make our own popcorn, the feeling is just not the same. So yeah, I do believe that is the main reason why they want to go to cinema now and then ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Today is another gloomy, windy and cold day. Another day stuck inside. At least when it’s not scorching hot, I get to use my kitchen a lot ๐
For today’s recipe, I finally edited this following. I wanted to make Berliner (jam filled doughnut) but I got lazy, and just served the doughnuts sprinkled with icing sugar ๐
1 tsp active dry yeast
1 tsp sugar (I may have said a pinch of sugar ๐โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ)
180 ml lukewarm water
250 g flour
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
A pinch of salt
25-28 g unsalted butter
Oil for frying
Icing sugar for serving
Activate the yeast in sugary water for 10 mins
Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix flour, sugar and salt. Pour in yeast, knead.
Add in butter, knead more.
Let rest covered for 30-60 mins, then roll flat dough
Cut dough with round cutters, cover and let rest again for 20 mins
Fry until golden brown
Let cool slightly, then sprinkle with icing sugar and enjoy right away ๐
