Happy Thursday!
I seriously think time flies like crazy. It’s freaking Thursday already. Weekends almost here again 😵💫
I got sick the other day. My body like so weak, almost sore-like but words can’t describe. I didn’t feel good at all, my tummy stiffened somehow, I feel like flying, etc, and all thanks to Wolfsbane! I think!
I know the word but never seen one, or so I thought. I only knew about wolfsbane from movies/TV series I watched. I really thought it was a made up thing 😅
Now, on my front yard, there was these beautiful purple flowers, that I never bothered to check what they were. Never touched them, just always trimmed weeds and whatnot, that grew around it. As I have mentioned quite a few times these days, that I would like to make some changes to my front and back yards, right. So I dug up all plants from front and moved them to backyard.
One of those plants were the pretty purple flowers.
I was good wearing gloves and whatnot when digging them up, but when I replanted them, I washed the roots without gloves as I didn’t wanna wet my gloves, and plus, I didn’t know what the plants were.
After gardening and throughout the night, I was like dying. Thought I was tired and just gotten sick somehow.
Checking out pictures of my progress of the day, I browsed Google and plant ID apps, and learned, the plants with the pretty purple flowers are Wolfsbane, a very poisonous herb. The most toxic is the root and young plants 😵💫 I wished so hard that it could be Delphinium instead. Apparently! Delphinium and Wolfsbane are from the same family and Delphinium IS also poisonous.
I got so worried as I progressed to worsen. My husband made me 2 cups of ginger tea. I also took 2 ginger pills. Took hot bath and just laid down with hot water pouch against my tummy. I felt out of this body, seriously. Body kinda shaking but not shivering. If I was really poisoned strongly by the plant, I don’t think I’d survive.
My husband pulled out the replanted plants and threw them in garbage. We have kids who like to play in the backyard, fur babies who like to jump around the trees to catch birds. Just scary!
It was a horrible experience. Learned my lesson. ID plants and always gloves for sure.
Made me wonder why the previous owner of the house planted wolfsbane. Must have been due to the pretty flowers….or they could be a witch 🤔😅🤔😅
Anyhoo!
Talking so much when I am here for recipe sharing 😅
