Good Morning Sunshine!
We get a sunny day, I repeat, it’s a sunny day 😍🥳😍🥳
It was windy yesterday and slowly the smoke was blown away. And at the moment? Super clear and sunny. I’m freaking happy! Here is crossing fingers the wildfires would die down as well and everyone gets to go back to their own homes again 🤞🤞🤞🤞
For today’s recipe share, it is a Hungarian dish called Csirke Paprikas. Simple to make, yet one of the log truckers I knew who is a Hungarian descendant, would always try to order from me as he doesn’t know how to prepare it. His family live far, he was never taught, he’s not into internet, and he lives alone. You know me, I’m a lazy mama already, can’t pay me to cook extra 🤣
Anyhoo! Here’s the recipe!
1 onion
4 garlic
1 heaping tbsp unsalted butter
1 kg chicken thighs, with bone and skin
1/2 c water
1 tbsp chicken bouillon powder
2 tbsp sweet paprika powder (edes paprika)
Slice garlic and onion
Melt butter and saute garlic and onion until soften
Stir in chicken pieces, cook for 3 mins, pour in water
Cover pan with lid, cook for 5 mins
Take off lid, add in bouillon and paprika powder, stir to combine
Continue cooking, add a little more water as needed, and/or the flavoring. Cook for 15-20 mins
Take off lid, stir, cook for another 15-20 mins, adjusting water if needed, and/or the flavoring.
Serve chicken with homemade pasta or macaroni, for the simplest, and top with sout cream, along with cucumber salad (uborka salata)
Enjoy!
