Good Morning!
Another cloudy morning here. Supposedly we will be expecting heavy rain this coming weekend. Let’s see if that’s gonna be correct or not. Weather predictions on my phone are often incorrect. I’m looking at you, Mr. Google 🤣
Do you ever wonder or think that it’s nice to have such job, weather predicting, I mean. You give incorrect prediction(s), and you still get to keep the job? Oohh…maybe not so much if it’s ending up to be a catastrophe? Idk 🙉🙊🙈 I know nothing, John Snow!
For today’s recipe share, in Indonesia this dish to some is known as Ayam Mentega, while to others as Ayam Kecap. It is a nice butter chicken 😍
Heaping 1/4 c unsalted butter
1 small onion
3 large garlic
12 pieces of chicken (drumstick or breast or upper thighs, etc)
1 – 1 1/2 c hot boiling water
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar)
2 chicken bouillon cubes
1/2 of a nutmeg, grate
Ground white pepper to taste (or a generous pinch)
Sweet soy sauce to taste (kecap manis)
Slice thinly garlic and onion, then saute in melted butter until fragrant.
Stir in and coat chicken, cook for 2 mins, on medium heat.
Pour in hot water, cook for another 2 mins, on low-medium, covered.
Stir in flavoring and continue cooking until chicken pieces are cooked through.
Serve immediately with warm rice.
Yummo!
