Hello From Sunny BC!
Yep! Sunny today. Sooo happy! ๐๐๐๐ I seriously don’t feel much depressed or frustrated with life whenever it’s a sunny day. How about you? ๐ Taking vitamin D supplement is just not the same. We truly need sun sunny day. Eyes happy, skin happy, soul happy. Just happy, happy, happy, and a little bit crazy ๐
I’m baking the boys banana muffins at the moment. Some days they love it when I pack them bananas for school, but some other days, not so much. They would never get bored of banana bread or banana muffins tho. So silly those boys of mine ๐
I actually wanted to walk later, when I pick up my youngest from school, as Google informed me this morning, that it’s gonna be a sunny day. However, my oldest just got over his cold, he doesn’t feel like walking home. So he requested to be picked up by car today. Ah well. Maybe I will drag my husband later in the day, to walk around the neighborhood. I always have to take him, as neighbors have big dogs and low fence. Scary dogs, I must say. They always try to jump out! Yikes!
For today’s recipe, I have chocolate filled steamed buns. Bakpao Cokelat ๐
100 ml lukewarm water
1 tbsp sugar
1 1/3 tsp active dry yeast
300 g flour
A pinch of salt
1/2 tbsp sugar
50 g unsalted butter
50 ml lukewarm water
1 tsp Pandan paste
Chocolate bars of your choice
Stir sugar in lukewarm water, then stir in yeast. Let stand for 5 mins.
In a cup, mix lukewarm water with pandan paste, set aside.
In a bowl, mix dry ingredients, make a well in center, then pour in yeasty water, stir with spatula.
Knead in butter, then pour in pandan water, knead until dough formed nicely.
Cover with cling wrap, rest for 30-60 mins.
Divide dough into 50 g portions. Flatten each and place a chocolate bar in center, seam to seal.
Rest dough buns for 10 mins, then steam buns in preheated steamer, for 10-15 mins.
Enjoy while warm is heaven on earth, but do watch out for melted chocolate, is pretty hot ๐
