Hi Guys!
Almost Halloween. I so can’t wait. I’ve prepared 45 goodie bags filled with chips and chocolates for any ghosts, superheroes, creatures, clowns, and princesses that will knock our door. 25 goodie bags for my youngest’s classmates for Halloween at school, and a basket of mixed chocolates and candies, just in case we run out of the 45 goodie bags 😍
LOVE Halloween!
Sadly, this year’s Halloween, I will be working nigh shift, so I won’t go with my littles and husband, Trick or Treat around the neighborhood. Meh!
Back to recipe sharing, today’s food is a Hungarian dish. Normally we don’t use smoked meat, however, we smoked some beef yesterday and I grabbed 1 and used it to make the following, in Instant Pot 😊
1 kg roast beef
Montreal steak seasoning
1/4 c flour
1 jar sauerkraut, dump the water, rinse
3 garlic
1 large onion
2 tbsp peanut oil
1 tbsp caraway seeds
2 heaping tsp sweet paprika powder
1 box beef broth
Chopped dill
Season beef with Montreal steak seasoning, smoke for an H and chill in the fridge overnight. Cube to bite size.
Heat oil, saute garlic and onion until soften. Stir in caraway seeds til fragrant, then stir in paprika powder. Pour a little broth so spices won’t burnt.
Stir in the cubed meat, followed with rinsed sauerkraut. Pour in the rest of the broth, leaving a little for sour cream mixture.
Choose stew option, cook for an H, release steam
Mix 1/3 c flour with 1/3 c sour cream in a bowl, with a little broth, quickly stir into the beef in the pot, along with chopped dill.
Serve fresh and warm, with sourdough! Yummo 😊
