Hi Friends,
Hope this finds you well ?
Another smoggy morning here in BC, Canada. I feel sorry for those who lost their house and/or had to be evacuated. Seems like it’s always an occurring issue every Summer. Reminds me life in Borneo, Indonesia. Whenever drought season causes fires, smoggy days. Worst, there was always supposedly controlled-fires from companies, clearing lands, which in the end became uncontrollable….in hot drought season. Like wtf.
Anyhoo.
Today’s recipe is from Hungary. This fried bread can be topped with anything you like. It is called Langos. In Canada, we have something similar to Langos, which is Beaver’s Tail and Bannock.
Some people would have potatoes as one of the main ingredients for Langos, but I never really liked the ones with potato. So the following is without ?
350 ml lukewarm
2 tsp active dry yeast
500 g strong bakers flour
2 tsp sugar
2-4 tsp salt
55-70 g unsalted butter
Vegetable oil for frying
1/3 c vegetable oil mixed with 2 tsp minced garlic
Sour cream
Grated cheese
