Back to school today. Boys were good waking up early, I was glad. You know, after 2 weeks of staying up later than they used to, then waking up also later ish, 1st day of school would not be too easy for waking up early, but this morning was a breeze ?
My youngest is 7 now. We celebrated his birthday on Christmas eve with a requested cake….gotta mention, half year long requested. Come to think of it, maybe longer than half year. Most likely he asked for it right after he turned 6 ? When he just turned 7, he already planned for his next cake, so yeah ?
He requested this following cake.
Are you familiar with the characters? It’s a spider in the form of muffin/cupcake and also a spider girl on the top.
They are Little Miss Muffet (the girl) and her pet, the spider cupcake ?. They are from a game called Undertale.
My son specifically asked for chocolate cake with the colorful buttercream (of purple and pink) with Nutella as filling ?
Cake
2 1/2 c flour
2 c sugar
2 tsp Bsoda
a pinch or two salt
6 tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 c vegetable oil
1-2 tsp vanilla essence
2 tbsp vinegar
2 c water
Cream
5 egg whites
1 1/4 c sugar
1 lbs unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla essence

Chocolate Cake with SMBC
Ingredients
Cake
- 2 1/2 c flour
- 2 c sugar
- 2 tsp Bsoda
- a pinch or two salt
- 6 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 c vegetable oil
- 1-2 tsp vanilla essence
- 2 tbsp vinegar
- 2 c water
SMBC
- 5 egg whites
- 1 1/4 c sugar
- 1 lbs unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients
- Pour in wet ingredients
- Bake at preheated 350 F until knife inserted in center comes out clean (35 mins)
SMBC
- On double boiler, mix egg whites and sugar, continuously stirring until mixture hot to the touch, 150 F
- Beat mixture, low speed, using stand up mixer until room temperature
- Up speed and keep beating until foamy
- Beat in butter a little at a time
- Keep beating until creamy, then beat in essence
- Cover and decorate cake as you wish 🙂
