My husband and I looked at each other as we went biking with the boys….Sangria time, we said ????
Yep. Hot sunny day, totally calls for Sangria.
I checked some cookbooks of mine, but ended up with my own mixture, easy peasy, but delish, I kid you not.
Give it a try ?
- 1.5 L dry red wine
- 1 c sugar
- 1/2 c water
- 6 sweet oranges
- 1 pineapple
- 2 grapefruit
- 2 sweet oranges
- 1 lime
- 1 lemon
- 1 handful blueberries
- 2 handful sweet cherries, pitted

Sangria
Ingredients
- 1.5 L dry red wine
- 1 c sugar
- 1/2 c water
- 6 sweet oranges
- 1 pineapple
- 2 grapefruit
- 2 sweet oranges
- 1 lime
- 1 lemon
- 1 handful blueberries
- 2 handful sweet cherries pitted
Instructions
- Make simple syrup by boiling sugar and water, cool to room temperature, set aside
- Squeeze juice from 6 oranges, set aside
- Slice and remove seeds/pits from all the fruits, but leave blueberries and some cherries whole (pits removed)
- Place all fruits into a huge bowl, pour in wine, syrup and orange juice
- Chill until ready to serve
- YUM!
