But this morning I warmed up the house by baking more cookies ??✌??✌
These are Nastar (nanas tart), which is Pineapple Tart cookies that are not just famous in Indonesia, but throughout South East Asian countries.

Legend has it that they are China and/or Taiwan origin, however, the Portuguese have something similar too. So IDK which one is correct ?
Growing up, I used to help my mama making them, just like my mama helped her mum, so yeah, it’s Indonesian ?✌?✌
Joking aside, Indonesia does have Portugese and China influences in some of our culture and food, so ?♂️?♀️?♂️?♀️

- 1/4 c sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- A pinch salt

- 1 c icing sugar
- 1 c vegetable oil
- 3 c flour
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- Cloves, optional
- Yellow food coloring, optional
- Vegan eggwash or regular eggwash, optional

Ingredients
Filling
- 1 ripe pineapple
- 1/4 c sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- A pinch salt
Cookies
- 1 c icing sugar
- 1 c vegetable oil
- 3 c flour
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- Cloves optional
- Yellow food coloring optional
- Vegan eggwash or regular eggwash optional
Instructions
Filling
- Grate pineapple
- On non stick pan, mix grated pineapple, sugar, cinnamon stick, and a pinch of salt
- Cook on high til bubbly then lower to medium low heat, keep stirring until no more liquid and mixture is moldable
- Cool completely before shaping into balls
Cookies
- Mix oil and icing sugar in a bowl
- Mix flour and cornstarch on a separate bowl, then mix mixture into wet ingredients, knead
- Pinch dough, flatten it, place a ball of filling, seam to seal into a round or whatever shape you wish
- Place a clove on top
- Bake on preheated 350 F convection oven for 12 mins
- Cool on rack completely
