Nagymama loved cooking bableves now and then, while she was still with us. When my husband is missing her, he would ask for bableves 🙂
Bableves is soooo good served mixed with a little vinegar. Yum!
Rinse and soak for 30 mins:
1 c Romano beans
1/2 c Great Northern beans
1/2 c Red Chili beans
Place beans into Instant Pot and add:
Water just below max line
1 onion, halved
3 garlic, sliced
3 bay leaf
A big pinch of peppercorns
Click soup and timer set for 1.40
Release steam, take off lid
Add in:
6 carrots, sliced
1 tbsp dried parsley
2 beef cubes
2 tbsp vegeta
Cook until carrots tender then stir in roux
Roux:
1/4 c flour
1 tbsp paprika powder
2 tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 c water
Add in sliced:
6 beef sausage and boil for another 5-8 mins

Ingredients

- Water as needed
- 1 onion halved
- 3 garlic sliced
- 3 bay leaf

- 6 carrots sliced
- 1 tbsp dried parsley
- 2 beef cubes
- 2 tbsp vegeta
- 1/4 c flour
- 1 tbsp paprika powder
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 1/2 c water
- 6 beef sausage
Instructions
- Rinse and soak beans for 30 mins, then dump them into instant pot
- Add water just below max line
- Add onion, garlic, bay leaf, peppercorns
- Click soup and timer set for 1.40
- Release steam, take off lid
- Then add in carrots, parsley, beef cubes and Vegeta powder
- Cook until carrots tender then stir in roux
- In a cup, mix flour, paprika powder, oil, and water
- Pour mixture into the pot
- Add in sausage and boil for another 5-8 mins
