Happy Canada Flag Day!
My youngest kept reminding me that it would be “Canada Flag Day soon, Mommy”. He is just too adorable. He is definitely like a sponge still, whatever he learns from school, he absorbs it by heart and would reteach whatever values he learns, to us at home 😁
So, for Canada Flag Day, I made these delish pies, my oldest’s son’s favorite, cherry pies 😊
I had left over of the store bought cherry pie filling, so flag shaped pies they became 🥧😍🥧😍
Here are the ingredients!
110 ml df milk, lukewarm
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp active dry yeast
1 can cherry pie filling (store bought, but you can use homemade, definitely!)
3 c flour
1/3 scant cup sugar
1 tsp salt
230 g fat (golden shortening) or regular vegetable shortening, df butter (room temperature), regular butter (room temperature), margarine (if using margarine spread, lessen the amount a bit) whichever you prefer
