For Day 3 yesterday, I had brown sugar jelly to break my fast. Originally, this jelly uses palm sugar, but just like the other two previous recipes I shared, they are also use palm sugar but I substituted them with brown sugar instead as I do not have palm sugar in my pantry for the last 2 weeks now lol
I do need some grocery shopping to do ๐
In case you are not familiar with agar-agar powder, it makes a firmer jelly compares to gelatin, by the way, so this following jelly is on the firm side. You can of course makes it more softer by adding more water, but since this is Indonesia style, we like firm agar-agar jelly ๐
Here is the recipe ๐
- 1 pouch agar-agar powder
- 400 ml coconut milk
- 430 ml water
- 3/4 c to 1 c brown sugar
- Mix agar-agar, water, and brown sugar, bring to boil for 2 mins
- Mix in coconut milk, boil for another 2 mins
- Pour into jelly mold, chill until firm
Once your jelly is firmed up, it will make two different layers, it would look lovely, of white and brown ๐
Easy peasy and a quicky recipe ๐

Agar-Agar Gula Merah
Ingredients
- 1 pouch agar-agar powder
- 400 ml coconut milk
- 430 ml water
- 3/4 c to 1 c brown sugar
Instructions
- Mix agar-agar, water, and brown sugar, bring to boil for 2 mins
- Mix in coconut milk, boil for another 2 mins
- Pour into jelly mold, chill until firm

Untuk takjil hari ke 3 kemarin, aku buat agar-agar gula merah, soalnya ga ribet, cepat jadi, ga makan banyak bahan hahaha Disini tuh apa yang ga mahal yah, tepung beras mahal, tepung beras ketan juga mahal, bahkan sebenarnya agar-agar pun mahal. Tapi apa mau dikata, lidah pingin yang mahal-mahal ala Indonesia wkwkwkw.
Sebenarnya ga usah dibagi resepnya yak, karena pasti teman pada tau, habis bikin agar-agar mah paling gampang ๐ Tinggal bubuk agar-agarnya, gula, air, jadi deh. Kalau agar-agar berikut ini dikasih santan, jadi airnya dikurangi aja dikit, dah gitu doang ๐
Cantiknya agar-agar gula merah yang pakai santan sih, kalau dah mengeras, jadi 2 lapis, bagian santannya pasti naik ke atas, jadi kalau di keluarkan dari cetakan, cakep banget ๐
Untuk ukuran yang ku pakai, lihat sebelah yak, hanya 1 bungkus agar-agar, 400 santan, 430 air, dan 1 gelas gula merah, jadi deh ๐
Agar-Agar Gula Merah
Ingredients
- 1 bungkus agar-agar
- 400 ml santan
- 430 ml air
- 1 gelas gula merah
Instructions
- Rebus agar-agar, air dan gula merah hingga mendidih, 2 menit
- Masukkan santan, aduk rata, masak 2 menit
- Tuang dalam cetakan, dinginkan
