Hi Youse 🙂
By now, if you are a follower, you would know that my household is into gingerbread house building, whenever Winter or holiday season is here. This year is no different. We built quite a few and one of them is this following gingerbread tower of Angry Birds VS Bad Piggies 😀
Obviously made by the order of my 4 years old son, the Angry Birds and Bad Piggies addict that he is lol
This tower was the 1st gingerbread “house” we made for 2018. So yeah, a trick so that he would not mess the other gingerbread houses, I had to make his first hahah
It is soooo easy to follow, and also not just delish to enjoy, but they are strong for house building as well.
– 2 flax eggs
– 3 1/4 c flour
– 1/2 c molasses (divide)
– 1 1/2 tsp ginger powder
– 1/2 tsp allspice powder
– 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
– 1 tsp BSoda
– A pinch of salt (The spices is depending how strong of flavor you’d like your cookies to be. You may add clove and nutmeg too)
– 1/2 c brown sugar (light or dark will result in lighter or darker cookies)
– 8 tbsp vegetable shortening/margarine/vegan butter
– Mix dry ingredients
– Cream shortening and brown sugar
– Beat in 1/4 c molasses and flax egg
– Add in dry mix a little at a time
– Beat in the other 1/4 c molasses
– Knead a little (Take some away, and color as you wish, to make leaves)
– Roll flat and cut as you like
– Bake on preheated 350 F for 10-11 mins (4-5 mins on convection oven)
– Cool on rack completely before decorating.
This following recipe is for making the vegan royal icing 🙂
– 1 can of aquafaba (from 540 ml canned chickpeas, aquafaba is the water)
– 7 c of icing sugar (for runny consistency), 8 c for thicker
– Beat aquafaba until frothy, then beat in icing sugar 1 c at a time, until desired thickness is reached
Start stacking, by gluing pieces with royal icing 🙂 You will need some supports, food coloring and the easiest part, Angry Birds and Bad Piggies toys 😀
You are good to go 😀
