So babe turned 4 a couple of days ago and he was sick on his birthday with fever. It didn’t stop him for giving the widest smile when he saw his cake tho, thank goodness no nausea so he could get up from the bed to the dining room for a little surprise from us ๐
He asked for Lego cake and I decided to make a number 4-shaped cake that was covered with sugar-Lego blocks.
His older brother helped by placing Lego toys here and there (yes, yes, I know when it is for a paying customer, not to place plastic toys on cake – have to put this disclaimer just in case ๐) and babe was so happy when he saw his toys were on the cake, plus there was a candle and balloons too, so he was a bit freaked.

There are 3 ways to make a number 4 shaped cake:
- bake in a mold that is shaped specifically as number 4
- bake a rectangular cake and use a number 4 template
- or like me, use your a brownie pan if they are collecting dust ๐
My brownie pan has 3 separated parts, so I was able to bake 3 cakes all at once.
So prepare whatever cake you like, cool on rack, then slice them as shown below.

Once you sliced them, you can start placing/shaping the sliced cakes into number 4-shape. From the slices shown on above picture, once you shape them as below, you will have a little cake left.

From the little cake, slice more to help the shape better and you will get this following shape, by attaching each slice with some cream.

Cover with any cream you like and decorate as you wish ๐
