Happy Monday Friends ?
I’ve been up since 3 AM ? Funny I took NyQuil before going to bed last night, usually it would knock me out til morning come, but not this time. I had a restless night, kept waking up for no reason, so were my kids and husband. The house wasn’t too cold nor too warm, we didn’t have greasy food, and in fact I only snakced on peanuts as I didn’t feel like dinner. So yeah, weird night we had ?
Here I am typing and helping my 4 yo trying to make a robot out of scattered Lego pieces ? I kid you not, my boy is so crazy on Lego, the first thing comes out of his mouth as soon as he is done greeting good morning to all of us, is “can we build —” – yep, all Lego connected, especially Lego Minecraft. It’s like during his sleep he dreams of being in Lego universe, am sure ?
Enough of updates ? What I really wanted to share was this spicy soy curls stir fry of mine.
Jerk seasoning is the key. So spicy, so good. Have you tried Walkerwood Hot & Spicy Jerk Seasoning Paste? Crazy good IMO, although a tad salty. I tried other brand, and they are equally good as well, but less salty. The dry powder isn’t as hot as paste though, so I’d totally recommend jerk seasoning paste instead powder.
Ingredients
- 3 c soy curls, soak in hot water for 10 mins, then mix in 2-3 heaping tbsp jerk seasoning paste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 large onion, sliced
- 2 garlic, sliced
- 2 bell peppers, sliced
- 1 box white button mushrooms, skinned and sliced
- 1/2 c snow peas
- 2-4 tbsp hoisin sauce
How To
- Heat oil and saute garlic and onion until half soften
- Stir in bell peppers, cover with lid and cook on medium for 5 mins
- Open lid and stir in snow peas and cook for 2 mins
- Stir in soy curls and mushrooms
- Add in hoisin sauce, stir
- Cook for 2 mins
Serve immediately with warm rice. Nom nom 😀

Pernah dengar soy curls ga? Terbuat dari kedelai dan oleh vegetarian serta vegan, soy curls ini merupakan sumber protein yang bisa diolah seperti ayam ataupun daging.
Tempo hari aku masak oseng-oseng soy curls yang cukup pedas dan mantaaaap banget buat yang hobi makan yang pedas2. Rahasianya? Pakai bumbunya orang Jamaika, Namanya bumbu jerk. Yang enak sih bumbu basahnya, kalau bumbu bubuknya kurang jos bagiku ?
Bahan-Bahan
3 gelas soy curls, rendam dalam air panas 10 menit, tiriskan, lalu campur dengan 2-3 sdm bumbu basah jerk
1 sdm minyak zaitun
1/4 bawang Bombay ukuran besar, iris
2 siung bawang putih, iris
2 buah paprika, iris-iris
15 jamur kancing segar, iris-iris
1/2 gelas kacang kapri
2-4 sdm saus hoisin
Cara Membuat
Panaskan minyak zaitun, tumis bawang Bombay dan bawang putih hingga setengah lunak
Masukkan paprika, aduk, tutup Teflon, dan masak 5 menit
Masukkan kacang kapri, aduk, masak 2 menit
Masukkan soy curls dan jamur kancing, beri saus hoisin, aduk, masak 2 menit
Sajikan segera dengan nasi hangat. Enak tenan ?
