These soft pretzels are yummy and super easy to make!
Following my previous post for Rainbow Challah, here is the promise recipe to make soft pretzels that are also RAINBOW hahah You know it, yep, to be entered to instructables.com contest 😀
Dough
4 tsp active dry yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 1/4 c lukewarm water
Sprinkle sugar on water followed with yeast. Let bloom for 5-10 mins, stir
In a bowl, mix 3 1/4 c flour with 1/4 c sugar and 3 tsp salt. Make a well in center
Pour yeast mixture and add 1 tbsp oil, knead
Cover and let rise on warm area for half H
After half H, you will see that dough is rising already, punch down
Divide dough into 4 portions and add enough gel food coloring to each of them (I use blue, green, purple, red and orange) – about 3-5 drop/tip of toothpick, knead
Let dough rise again for another 30 mins in warm place
Knead to combine
Preheat oven to 450 F
Once kneaded, slice pretzels into 8 portions
Roll each portion into ropes and bath them for a second in baking soda solution
Place pretzels on baking sheet and sprinkle with coarse sea salt
Bake pretzels for 8 minutes
Enjoy 🙂
