There is a baking contest on instructables.com that I am going to enter, so I baked these brownies 😀
Brownies are my husband’s and the kids’ favorite, like for always, so they were more than happy to be taste testers every time hahaha 😀
These red velvet brownies is awesome with or without the truffle topping btw. And if you omit the food color, you get a great basic brownies 🙂
3 tbsp Cocoa Powder
4 tsp liquid red food coloring
2 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 c butter/margarine
1 1/2 c Sugar
2 eggs
1 1/4 c flour
a pinch of salt
Truffle Layer:
1/8 c heavy cream 35 %
1/2 c chocolate chips
Topping:
6-8 Oreos, some quartered, some crushed
Mix cocoa powder, red food color, vanilla essence in a bowl
Using electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until fluffy then beat in an egg one at a time on high speed
Beat in cocoa mixture until combined well on medium speed then mix in flour and salt on low speed until just combined
Bake on preheated 350 F for 40 minutes
Cool to room temperature
Truffle Layer:
Heat cream in microwave for 35-45 seconds then stir in chips until melted
Pour ganache on cooled brownies, spread evenly
Sprinkle with crushed and chopped Oreos
Slice and enjoy 🙂
