Seasons of greetings is upon us and gift in a jar is always fun to do and gifted away 🙂 Gift in a jar may seem nothing, but it is actually awesome, it has a personal touch 😀 Depending on the jars, you can fill up ingredients that in the end when the person who receive the gift, would be able to feed a family of 6 in fact 😉
This following jar is a simple one though, as am entering it to 3 ingredients contest on instructables.com 😀
2 1/4 c bittersweet/semi sweet chocolate chips or chocolate barks or chocolate blocks
3/4 c dried apricots, chopped, fill into a ziplock bag
3/4 c whole almonds, unblanched, toasted
In the following order given, place materials into a mason jar
On the jar attach instruction how to make Almond and Apricot Bark, which is:
Combine toasted almonds and apricots from the jar into a mixing bowl
Line baking sheet with parchment/wax paper
Melt 3/4 c of the chocolate from the jar in double boiler or microwave in 30 seconds intervals
Stir in remaining quarter of chocolate in 3 batches, making sure each batch is melted before adding the next
Stir in almond mixture, coating completely with chocolate
Turn mixture out onto sheet and spread with spatula evenly. Chill in the fridge for half hour
Peel paper off back of bark and break or cut into pieces
Store in airtight container between sheets of wax/parchment paper at cool room temperature (good for 2 weeks)
Enjoy 🙂
