Love it when it is October. Instructables.com would have Halloween related contests, be it arts, crafts, or foods and drinks 😀
These cookies are banana cream flavored and they are marvelous!
I baked these to be entered to their contest 😀
1 c margarine (or butter)
1 1/2 c icing sugar
1 egg
2-3 drops of banana cream flavoring
2 1/2 c flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
food coloring
sugar sprinkles (additional)
Mix dry ingredients, set aside
Place egg, margarine and icing sugar into a mixer bowl, add in food coloring and beat to combine (if you dont have a mixer, no worries, wooden spoon would work too)
Beat in dry mixture and divide dough into 3 portions
Color the other 2 portions with orange and yellow and leave the third portion as is
Shape all dough into disks and wrap with plastic cling and refrigerate for 20 mins
Roll flat each and stack one to another (on wax or parchment paper so it would be easy to flip stack the dough)
Roll into log, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour
Preheat oven to 375, slice log into cookies, sprinkle with sugar if you like, and bake for 8 minutes
Cool on baking sheet for a minute or two before cooling them completely on rack.
