For Idul Fitri this year, I am baking two kinds of cookies and one of them are these rich drop cookies, and I kid you now, they ARE rich in flavor indeed.
Butterscotch, maple, and brown sugar? Yummo! All flavors that I truly love 😀
1/2 c shortening
1 c firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp maple essence
1 3/4 c flour
1 tsp each BP and Bsoda
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 c sour milk (buttermilk)
1 c butterscotch chips (more for extra greatness! I sometimes add 1 more cup)
Cream shortening and add sugar.
Add eggs, vanilla and beat until fluffy.
Sift dry ingredients together, add alternately with sour milk.
Fold in the chips.
Drop by tbsp onto greased sheet and give some space like 2 inch apart. Bake at preheated 350 F for 12 mins
You can use vanilla essence and raisins instead maple and butterscotch chips. The possibility is endless for example: vanilla and choc chips, vanilla and dried cranberries or mixture of dried fruits and baking chips, etc
Enjoy~
