Yay, my baby is turning 1, woo-hoo!
We are having East Meets West party, with Circus as the theme 😀
I prepared Indonesian foods for the meals, while for the sweets I prepared Western goodies, like these meringue candies.
Schuimpjes is actually how we call these candies in Indonesia, but it is not Indonesian word, it is Dutch, as we were colonized by them many moons ago.
Ingredients
- 250 g sugar
- 125 ml egg whites
- Food flavoring and coloring as you like
Instructions
- Beat egg whites until frothy on low-med speed
- Add in sugar bits by bits, on medium-high
- Once sugar all gone, increase to high speed until thickened
- Drop by tbsp or pipe as you please, on parchment paper
- Bake on 212 F for 50 minutes
This recipe is good for making pavlova base as well, by the way!
