Back in my parents house, we called this dish as Ayam Kecap. Later on when I was living in uni, some referred this dish as Ayam Mentega. Either way, so good and the main flavoring is Indonesian sweet soy sauce 😀
1 whole chicken, cut up
2 pouches of indofood bumbu racik for tempe (you can use whichever you like, tempe tofu fish chicken, they are all taste the same oddly. Kinda makes you think its fooling lol)
Enough corn oil
3-4 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp water
Enough kecap manis, ABC brand preferred (save on food carries this)
3-4 stalks of green onion, sliced
1-2 tbsp salted butter
Coat chicken with indofood, if you dont have it, use a mixture of salt, garlic powder, turmeric powder.
Heat heaping oil, fry chicken until crispy, set aside
Melt butter, saute garlic
Pour in enough sweet soy sauce an water then add in chicken, stir to coat
Add in more sweet soy sauce if needed
Just before turning off stove, stir in green onion
Serve immediately with warm rice is best
