One of the good things living in the north is I guess when hunting season is here, our freezer would be full with protein, while our pockets are not suffering 😀
Here is a burger (or maybe a sandwich?) using elk meat that the hunters (husband and his friend) brought home 😀
Elk is not so bad, much like deer and moose, they are all good, once you are used to the gamey taste, I guess. I like moose and elk better than deer though!
500 g fresh elk meat
Enough water
1 envelope dry onion soup powder
Tomato slices
Lettuce green
Korean bbq sauce with black seeds, VH brand (or ketchup or other sauces such as mayo etc you prefer on your burger)
Buns
How To:
Heat non stick pan, brown meat
Place into crockpot
Pour in a cup or two water
Sprinkle soup powder
Cook for 6-8 hours
Take out meat, it should pull nicely (like almost crumbling)
Prepare your bun etc and place pulled meat
Serve immediately
