Zsemle (dinner buns), kifli (croissant shaped dinner buns), braided banana bread
I am not too satisfied with the result. The texture for the zsemle and kifli are just too different from what one would find at Hungarian bakeries. It was translated from a Hungarian recipe, but the problem is, the flour in Hungary is not too similar with the flour available in Canada, and most of the times, store bought, bakery bought, and homamade are often different, so…

540 g flour
300 ml milk
30 g fresh yeast
1 tsp sugar
2 tsps salt
1 egg
warm milk to lukewarm, add in sugar, and dissolve yeast, let stand 5-10 mins until rising
mix dry ingredients, make a well, add in egg and pour in yeast mixture, knead well
let rest, covered, for an hour/doubled in size
roll if youd like to make buns/zsemle, and cut with round cookie cutter
to make kifli, slice into quarters and roll as croissant
and the rest of the dough I just braided it with banana filling
bake in preheated 350 f for 20 mins/browning

- 300 ml milk

- 2 tsps salt
- 1 egg
Instructions
