This is a super simple and quick recipe to prepare an open face apple pie at home for the family 🙂
Crust:
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp sugar (more if you’d like a sweeter crust)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tbsp milk
Filling:
6 red apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
juice from 1 whole lemon
1/4 cup raisins
1/3 cup (80 g) sugar
3 pinches nutmeg powder
1/2 cup (50 g) dry white breadcrumbs
Method:
Mix all ingredients for crust, press into 8 inch pie plate
Mix all filling ingredients, then pour into the crust
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes
Serve warm with ice cream or to accompany a cuppa tea/coffee
