Yes, you will find chicken tikka that is orange, brownish, and mine is reddish/orangish 😀 It’s all depending what you add into your marinade. Some add turmeric, some don’t. Some add food coloring, some avoid it. So adjust to your liking, please!
Ingredients
- 8 chicken thighs
- 200 ml plain yogurt
- 2 tsps paprika powder
- 2 tsps lemon juice
- 2 tsps grated ginger
- 2 tsps garam masala
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic (store bought)
- red food coloring (optional), as needed (gives the dish its traditional bright color)
How To
- Mix yogurt and the rest of the ingredients well; marinate chicken thighs and place in the fridge for 4 hours at least (best is overnight)
- Preheat oven to 400 F
- Remove chicken using a slotted spoon and place in a baking dish; bake for 40 minutes or until tender.
- Basting with leftover marinade once awhile while cooking.
- Serve with jasmine rice.
